Marius Borg Høiby enters trail in custody for new offenses
On Friday, new Epstein files were published containing unfavorable information about Crown Princess Mette-Marit. On Sunday, her son Marius Borg Høiby was arrested and charged with new offenses, just two days before the seven-week-long trial against him is set to begin.

On Sunday, Marius Borg Høiby was arrested and charged with new offenses. According to TV2, these consist of violence, knife threats, and violation of a restraining order against his former girlfriend. On Monday afternoon, the Oslo District Court decided to remand Høiby in custody for four weeks, until 2 March. These matters are not included in the indictment that is in place at the start of the trial, which begins today and lasts until Thursday 19 March.
Please note that Marius Borg Høiby is charged only with the offenses listed below. It is the Oslo District Court that will determine the question of guilt and any potential sentence if he is found guilty. The offenses contained in the indictment are alleged to have taken place in the period from 2018 to November 2025.

Sexual offenses: 10 counts, including 4 counts of rape, with a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years
Drug offenses: 1 count, with a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years
Violence, threats, and offensive behavior: 9 counts, including 1 count of violence in close relationships and 1 count of aggravated bodily harm, both carrying a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 6 years
Traffic offenses: 8 counts, including 2 counts carrying a maximum penalty of up to 2 years
Criminal damage: 2 counts, with a penalty of a fine or imprisonment for up to 1 year
Violation of a restraining order: 6 counts, with a penalty of a fine or imprisonment for up to 1 year
Unlawful conduct toward the police: 2 counts, with a penalty of a fine
