About Society and Politics

News perspectives

S&P defends the democratic principles of the public's right to insight and influence. S&P highlights issues and perspectives that receive little space in established media; the articles published are therefore to be regarded as news perspectives. Each article is based on actual events and reliable sources, and the sources are cited. S&P reports on the events of our time and documents them for the future.

Transparent news media

S&P does not claim to be objective. Objectivity has been debated in journalism since the profession emerged. In some academic circles, objectivity is considered a utopia, and the reader is instead held to have a right to know the political position of the outlet, the editor and/or the author. This is called transparency. When the internet arrived at the end of the last century, objectivity was seriously challenged, and transparency came to be described as the new objectivity. S&P is a transparent medium.

S&P is under development

S&P has already positioned itself as a serious news provider with high domain authority in search engines. S&P is continuing to develop its technical platform and will also bring on new writers. If this is of interest, get in touch via the contact form.

Legal Framework

S&P complies with Norwegian legislation: the Personal Data Act (GDPR) on the protection of personal data, the Copyright Act, and Article 100 of the Constitution on freedom of expression — within the limits of the prohibition against hate speech (Penal Code § 185) and the prohibition against harassment (Penal Code § 266). See also our Privacy Policy.

Member group

S&P was originally established as a member group and had 8,500 members. The group has, however, been paused, as the chosen platform did not function satisfactorily. Work is now under way to find a new solution.

Founder

S&P was founded by a private individual with relevant technical and communications expertise, including journalism. The founder is positioned at the centre of Norwegian politics, but holds no political office and has no affiliation with political parties, organisations, business interests or others. The initiative is based solely on personal civic engagement.

Contact

Until a new membership platform is in place, you can reach the founder and article authors via the contact form.
